As with previous works such as "Flower Crown" and "In Seizing the Distant Light," this is created to provide quality wind literature for small bands. It is scored so the band can produce a resonant timbre with not so many members.
Written not just as performance repertoire, there is an educational element of interpretation for the director to get the performers involved in playing various styles such as staccato, accents, and tenuto.
過去の「フラワー･クラウン」や「彼方の光を掴むとき」と同じく、少人数･不完全なバランスでも吹奏楽らしい作品と触れ合える機会を、というコンセプトで作曲しましたが、今回はアンサンブルでの演奏に関しては想定せず、バンドで演奏することだけを想定してスコアリング設計を施しました。レパートリーとしてはもちろんですが、スタッカート･アクセント･テヌートなどの表現力を養うため、また指揮者･指導者がフレキシブルの楽譜からサウンドを作り上げるためのツールとしても活用出来るものになるよう心がけました。
スコア通りに演奏すると6分半程度ですが、必要に応じて、D.S.時の33小節目～60小節目のカット(約40～50秒)が可能です。
