New York, London, Paris...in major cities around the world, towering buildings dominate the view. These cityscapes continue to evolve day by day, offering different views depending on the time of day. Tokyo is the same, and it continues to change every day.
The music begins with a fanfare celebrating the development of the city, followed by a main theme that depicts the city's ever-changing appearance.
Tokyo Skyscraper was commissioned by Tetsuya Kashino, conductor. The piece premiered on February 11, 2024 in Tokyo, Japan by the Oedo Symphonic Wind Orchestra with his conducting.
ニューヨーク、ロンドン、パリ…世界の大都市では大きなビルが建ち並び、街並みは日々進化し続け、また時間によっても様々な景色を見せてくれます。
もちろん東京も然り、日々変化を続けています。
都市の発展の称えるファンファーレに始まり、刻々と表情を変える街の様子を表現した主部・中間部と続きます。
指揮者の樫野哲也氏からの委嘱により作曲。2024年2月11日、同氏が指揮を務める大江戸シンフォニックウィンドオーケストラの第12回定期演奏会にて初演されました。
