Latte Macchiato literally means stained milk. This coffee beverage consists of layers of milk foam and espresso, which are formed by adding a shot of espresso to frothed milk. In the middle section of this composition the many different motifs get intertwined and, like coffee shots and milk, later blend into one.
Originally composed as a saxophone quartet as a present for a friend of the composer, this piece was arranged for 5 part flexible setting with optional vibraphone and drums.
「牛乳に染みがついた」という意味を持つ「ラテ･マキアート」。中間部はいくつかの旋律が混ざりあいながら進み、ショットとミルクが芸術的に溶け合う様子を描いています。
友人へのプレゼントとしてサクソフォン四重奏で作曲。のちに5パートに変更し、打楽器を付け加え現在の形になりました。
