In Seizing the Distant Light

The purpose of this composition is to provide quality music for smaller bands or those with limited instrumentation. Its scoring will produce a good band sound even with flexible instrumentation.
"Distant Light" is not a specific entity, rather it's the guiding light that compels us towards the attainment of our various hopes and desires.
The work can be performed as an ensemble piece minus percussion, but I recommend a 10-25 piece small band setting.
Dedicated to bass clarinetist Julia Kinoshita, for her inspiration to create this music.
少人数･不完全なバランスでも吹奏楽らしい作品と触れ合える機会を、という コンセプトで作曲。あらゆる編成例が考え得るフレキシブルの作品において、違和感なくバンドらしい響きがするスコアリング設計を施しました。
タイトルにある「彼方の光」は具体的に何かを指すものではありません。誰もが理想や希望を持ち、前進していく姿を象徴する音楽にしようと思いました。
パーカッションを除いて、管楽アンサンブルとしての演奏も可能ですが、10人前後から25人程度までの小編成吹奏楽での演奏を推奨します。
なお、曲名を決めるにあたり、バスクラリネット奏者の木下珠利亜氏に助言をいただきました。彼女にこの作品を捧げます。
