Every Day Anew embodies the concept of starting each day with a fresh mindset and renewed energy. It explores the idea that each morning brings a new opportunity filled with possibilities and discoveries.
The music opens with a bright and energetic theme, symbolizing the first light of dawn and the sense of anticipation that comes with a new beginning. As the piece progresses, the music moves through contrasting sections—some calm and introspective, others lively and exuberant-representing the ebb and flow of daily life.
Throughout, recurring motifs reappear in varied forms, illustrating the continuity of life's rhythm while highlighting the uniqueness of each new day. The final section brings back the theme of introduction with a renewed sense of strength and determination, culminating in a triumphant and uplifting conclusion. This ending serves as a reminder that no matter the challenges we face, each day offers a chance to begin anew with hope, enthusiasm, and an open heart.
Every Day Anew was commissioned by the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force 4th Division Band. The premiere was held in Fukuoka Prefecture on September 8th, 2024, with Mr. Hiroki Hayashida, First Lieutenant, conducting.
Premiered on February 23, 2025, in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan, by the Hekiraku Ensemble, with the composer conducting.

「エヴリデイ･アニュー」は、毎日を新たな気持ちで迎え、前向きなエネルギーを持って一日を始めるというコンセプトを表現した作品です。
冒頭では、明るくエネルギッシュなテーマが奏でられ、夜明けの光が差し込み、新しい一日が始まる期待感を象徴します。軽快なアーティキュレーションやリズミカルな動きが用いられ、朝の澄んだ空気や、これから広がる一日のワクワクするような感覚を表現しています。曲が進むにつれ、穏やかで内省的な場面と、生き生きとした躍動感のある場面が交互に現れ、日々の流れの中にあるさまざまな感情の変化を描き出します。
曲全体を通して、主題となるモチーフがさまざまな形で繰り返されることで、人生のリズムの継続性と、毎日が持つ特別さが同時に表現され、終盤では、冒頭のテーマが再び登場し、より力強さと決意を増した形で奏でられます。クライマックスでは、高揚感あふれるフィナーレへと向かい、聴く人に希望と前向きな気持ちを届けます。
たとえ困難に直面したとしても、新しい一日が始まるたびに、私たちはまた新たな気持ちで歩み出すことができる。その想いを音楽を通して伝える作品です。
陸上自衛隊第4師団音楽隊の委嘱作品で、2024年9月8日に福岡県･福岡シンフォニーホール アクロス福岡にて、隊長林田広記2尉の指揮により初演されました。
