A beautiful lyrical section includes a reference to The Water is Wide, which expresses a scene where the hero thinks about his mother country.
The opening themes return once again before the piece fades away in a haunting manner.
ベルギーのHafabra Musicの代表、Louis Martinus氏より、日本の歴史を題材にした作品をと委嘱されました。
タイトルの通り、航海中に日本に漂着し、その後の人生を侍として生きたWilliam Adams(三浦按針)を題材にしたものです。中間部は遠い祖国を歌ったイギリス民謡、「The Water Is Wide」の旋律を引用しました。
